A mega-car recycling plant will be set up in Oise, “the largest in France”

A new mega-factory will soon see the light of day in Oise. The construction of a “gigafactory” in Pont-Sainte-Maxence was announced by the group GPAan industrialist specializing in recycling of motor vehicles.

This will be set up on the former Salpa site, rue Pasteur, and will be operational in July 2025. Its completion represents an investment of 42 million euros.

A high-tech factory, the largest in France

“This factory will be both the largest in France and the most technologically advanced, particularly with the deployment of resources dedicated to the recovery of electric vehicles and their batteries,” explains the GPA group, which plans to recycle 40,000 end-of-life vehicles each year.

“GPA thus confirms its status as a key player in sustainable repair and the circular economy in the automotive industry.”

At least 70 jobs created

Vehicles which will come “mainly from insurance companies” from Hauts-de-France and the Paris region.

This ambitious project will help make repairs more economical in a period of tension on the purchasing power of the French. It is also the sign of the development of a new industrial sector whose vocation is the preservation of our country’s resources in strategic materials.

For the mayor (DVD) of Pont-Sainte-Maxence, Arnaud Dumontier, “the implementation of GPA is a fantastic opportunity for our territory and the illustration of the ecological dynamic that we wish to instill.”

“In addition to bringing new life to an industrial wasteland, this project creates non-relocatable jobs and contributes to the attractiveness of Hauts-de-France for green industries,” insists the elected official.

At least 70 jobs will be created mainly in automobile dismantler, forklift driver and order picker positions.
