“Is the Post Office still a public service? » This is the question that came up frequently among customers of the Postal Bank has Aunay-sur-Odon (Les Monts d’Aunay), in Calvados.

Contacted, the Post Office responded.

The number of ATM transactions is falling, many fewer people are using cash, but paying ‘contactless’ with their bank card. This ATM was not used enough and was no longer up to standard. Customers can make withdrawals by going to the Aunay-sur-Odon post office.

In Aunay-sur-Odon, there are two other ATMs remaining. For customers of another bank, it is possible to make a withdrawal cash, free of charge three times a month, but it is not possible to obtain information on his postal account, like a summary transactions made on his account.

Customers of the Aunay post office demonstrated their discontentlike Annick, a former postal worker. “Today, a town like Monts d’Aunay, with more than 4,000 inhabitants, no longer has a Post Office ATM. It was removed without any explanation to users. It’s a lack of respect towards them! »

Other customers have abounded in this sense: “It is a contempt of the Post Office towards its customers! » ; “We have to get our money out of the Post Office,” we could hear on Saturday morning during the market.
