Closed bridges, landslides, river levels: update on the situation in the Gard after the Cévennes episode

There are still bridges and roads closed in after the precipitation of recent hours.

After the rainy-stormy episode on the night of Monday October 7 to Tuesday October 8, the rivers reacted. Those of the Cèze aval and the Gardons are monitored because they will reach their flood peak in the early evening. Météo has placed the department on yellow alert for floods.

After a lull, precipitation irrigated a good part of the Gard at the end of the afternoon, with even hail in the Quissac sector.

Road conditions

This also impacted the condition of the roads. The Gard departmental council, in its 6 p.m. update, announces several bridges closed: RD165 at the Bagnols-Carmignan footbridge, RD386 from the Grand tourne to Bessèges, RD187C at Rochegude and RD187A at Rivières for the bridge over the Cèze. The Dions Bridge finally reopened at the end of the day.

Several landslides affected the municipalities of La Grand-Combe (RD286), Robiac-Rochessadoule (RD162), Sénéchas (RD156). Traffic is alternated on these axes currently being processed by the departmental council.
