“Aghast”. On Monday, Secours populaire volunteers noticed that their premises located in Bourgoin-Jallieu, in Isère, had been burglarized again over the weekend. This is the third time in six months that the association has been the victim of burglary in the department, reports France Info. A warehouse was vandalized last December in Echirolles, near Grenoble, for damage estimated between 300,000 and 400,000 euros.

This time, it was mainly clothes and household appliances that were stolen. According to Jean-Michel Monnet-Paquet, the secretary general of the Les Portes de l’Isère committee, interviewed by the radio, “half of the stock” was “devastated”.

Help the association with donations

Still according to the media, Secours populaire and the Bourgoin-Jallieu town hall, which provides the premises, intend to file a complaint. Faced with these repeated burglaries, the departmental federation of the association is considering placing the warehouses under surveillance. Last March, it was in Vif that a premises was visited.

To help Secours populaire, Jean-Michel Monnet-Paquet suggests making “monetary donations” as a priority, given that the association does not have “storage space”.
