The Department of Essonne launches a digital offer for communities

Created in 2016, Digital Essonne is an open mixed union born from the association of the Department of Essonne and 124 municipalities in order to implement and materialize digital regional planning. The Union signed on May 6 in Evry-Courcouronnes a global public performance contract (MPGP) on a departmental scale of 90 million euros, for 12 years, with its partners Axione, Free Pro, NGE, Sogetrel and Eryma .

After successfully deploying its Very High Speed network infrastructures on its territory, Essonne Numérique now supports local authorities and EPCI (public intermunicipal cooperation establishments) of the department in their development of digital uses and services. The latter can now rely on the market “Digital uses & services, smart territories” opened by the union and won by the group led by Sogetrel, NGE Infranet and NGE Energie Solutions.

Solutions that will allow communities to improve their public services

The group’s services include: Monitor fluid consumption of a building, thus detecting a leak before any major damage or excessive cost. Optimize waste collection with connected sensors evaluating the filling rate of garbage dumpsters, allowing efficient collection rounds. Evaluate the humidity level soils using intelligent sensors that limit automatic watering. Fight against illegal dumping garbage, thanks to connected monitoring equipment.

As much solutions enabling communities to improve the efficiency of their public services and the quality of life of their citizens and users while contributing to their energy transition. This collaboration with the group led by Sogetrel marks a significant step forward in our ambition to digitally transform our territories. We are convinced that this alliance will allow us to meet the current and future needs of our communities, by offering innovative and efficient solutions,” declared in particular Michel Bournat, president of the Essonne Numérique joint union.
