Several thousand people converged during the night from Wednesday to Thursday towards the south-east of Maine-et-Loire to take part in an undeclared rave party.

“Several hundred vehicles and thousands of people began to converge on Parnay”, a small village in Maine-et-Loire, “to set up a free party on agricultural land illegally,” the department prefecture announced in a press release. .

The small neighboring town of Souzay-Champigny warned its residents on its Facebook page on Thursday that this “undeclared rave party is currently taking place south of Souzay-Champigny on an open site and will last until Sunday”, warning against noise pollution. and unusual flows of people.

“This large gathering was in fact the subject of no preparation on the part of the organizers with state services and communities. In addition, the presence of narcotics and alcohol on the site presents high risks for personal safety,” deplores the Maine-et-Loire prefecture.

The prefect of the department, Philippe Chopin, “enjoins the public not to join the site” of this illegal gathering and warns that “any participant is exposed to sanctions”.
