This is the second in the space of a week. This Friday October 4, 2024, the inauguration of a huge park of 11 wind turbines was held in the south of Pas-de-Calais. They are located in the municipalities ofHaucourt, Cagnicourt and Villers-lès-Cagnicourt. We tell you more.

A total power of 46.2 megawatts

After the inauguration of the Helfaut wind farm on Friday September 27, that of Quintefeuilles took place this Friday in the presence of the mayor of Haucourt, Philippe Dubus and the mayor of Cagnicourt, Thibaut Samier, as well as François Daumard, president of Valeco and the Alterric representatives behind the project.

The project, initiated around ten years ago by the community of municipalities of Osartis-Marquion, was completed in the summer of 2023. The wind farm has been commissioned since August of this year.

The spectacular decontamination work had made it possible to dig up more than 1000 shells and 800 rounds of ammunition dating from the Second World War. The project lasted many months, from August 2021 to August 2023.

The park and its 11 wind turbines, with a total power of 46.2 megawatts, will produce the equivalent of the consumption of 72,500 inhabitants and the saving of 75,700 tonnes of CO2.
