Sunday April 28 took place in Graulhet a selective competition for the French archery championship, which was at the same time the Tarn championship for “Nature” shooting.

“The archers, in platoons of 5, shoot at targets, scattered along a marked path, recalls Aline Vincent, President of the Archers du Dadou. The shooting distance is between 5 and 40 meters, each archer moving from one pole to the other, in a time of 30 seconds (45 for certain categories) for the shooting of 2 arrows. The shots are included in the allotted time, that is to say that the time must be quickly evaluated. distance, the pitfalls of the terrain before adjusting your shot!”

The championship took place on morning shooting only, and Carole BeraiL, the president of the departmental committee, presented the medals to young Thibaud and Maeva Themines, the latter is the reigning French Champion for 2023. Then to Castraise Estelle Sicart as well as Yoan Themines. Concerning the adults, Laurent Cadamuro and Stéphanie Ballery were medalists in the “naked recurve bows” category, while her husband Christophe Ballery was “only” second.

For the practice of bare compound bows, it was Stéphane Calac who won ahead of Eric Mauries and Nicolas Themines. Then in “Straight Arcs” it was Guillaume Puel, Stéphane Fonvieille, and veterans Gisèle Gallet and Pascal Viala who won ahead of Régis Gardeur, several times French champion in the course disciplines. While in the free bow category (compound bows equipped with a sight) Kristina Mosievskaia-Bauer and Benoît Calduk won by a wide margin. Finally in “hunting bow” (short double bends, without arrow rest) Olivier Bouisset and Jean-Pierre Alvarez are respectively crowned Tarn champions in the senior 2 and senior 3 categories.

During the afternoon, the simple selection for the French championship took place, which will take place from May 17 to 19 in Haute-Garonne in Donneville, organized by the Archers de Montgiscard.

Congratulations to all the archers who participated in this championship and thank you to the managers, especially to the Archers du Dadou de Graulhet team who prepared and set up this beautiful course! Contact [email protected] Aline Vincent at 06 80 00 13 28
