Valencia: 25 projects selected for the participatory budget

The results of the citizen vote made it possible to elect numerous neighborhood projects within the framework of the participatory budget.

For the first year, the participatory budget was a great success in Valencia. Nearly 220 projects were submitted by residents! More than 1,100 votes were counted. “We have a very invested population in Valentin. We can only be very satisfied with the participation and motivation of the neighborhood committees”greets Nicolas Daragon, mayor of Valence.

All districts of Valencia affected

In total, 25 projects will be carried out, including one to five per district as follows:

Alpes Maubourg: two projects have been selected: the revegetation of the Faubourg Saint-Jacques and the redevelopment and extension of Square Lamartine which will receive additional funding and will be the subject of a consultation phase with the residents of the district before its implementation .

Calvaire Hugo: two joint projects: the renovation of Square Diderot, which represents €150,000, will last until 2026 and will require a preliminary consultation phase with residents before its implementation.

City center: two projects: the installation of picnic tables at Jouvet Park and bicycle hoops. Prior consultation with residents and traders will be carried out on the second project.

Chamberlière: two joint projects: the development of the Gérard Philippe mall which will run until 2026, receives additional funding and will be the subject of citizen consultation before its implementation.

Châteauvert: two projects: the installation of a mosquito-free zone and the creation of a green theater, benefiting from additional funding and being the subject of prior citizen consultation before its implementation.

Fontbarlettes: €53,900 for two joint projects…
