Yesterday evening, a police operation took place on Highway 20 in the St-Germain de Grantham sector, near Drummondville, for a possible kidnapping.

According to the Sûreté du Québec, SQ police officers in the Salaberry-de-Valleyfield / Beauharnois region were informed that there had been a kidnapping of a person by several individuals, which triggered a search operation.

The suspect vehicle was located in the evening on Highway 20 in St-Germain de Grantham, near Drummondville. Several patrol cars from Drummondville, also helped by those from Saint-Hyacinthe, deployed to carry out an interception.

The police then began an investigation and identified the three people who were in the vehicle. The vehicle was also searched thoroughly.

The Sûreté du Québec indicated this afternoon that the kidnapping would be unfounded. The three individuals were encountered and then released. The investigation continues.
