Ziguinchor, Oct 6 (APS) – The 4th edition of the Casamance Cycling Tour called “International Tour of Casamance” will take place from November 19 to 24, with the participation of national and international teams from Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea Conakry, France, Senegal, said Sunday the president of the Ziguinchor regional cycling league, Ibrahima Diassy.
Mauritania, Guinea Conakry, Burkina Faso, Mali and Cape Verde would like to participate this year in the International Tour of Casamance, the objective of which is to promote peace in Casamance and do sport by bike, according to its coordinator, Ibrahima Diassy who spoke on the sidelines of a press briefing.
The Boucle du Blouff will be the starting point for this edition, which will end at Cap Skirring, 70 km southwest of Ziguinchor, the regional capital.
“We are very advanced in the preparations for this international tour. We hope for good organization,” reassured Ibrahima Diassy.
he invited state authorities to “support this event with a view to promoting its success”, and also facilitate “the crossing of borders for foreigners who wish to participate in this international tour.
Here is the itinerary for this edition of the Tour international de la Casamance, formerly called “Casa Tour”: 1st stage (November 19): Boucle du Blouff-Bignona, second stage (November 20): Ziguinchor – Sédhiou, third stage (21 November): Tanaf-Kolda, fourth stage: (November 22, transfer of riders to Goudomp) and last stage (November 23): Ziguinchor-Cap Skirring.
