The director signs her first production, “Entre Amis” by Georges Guerreiro. The play is performed at Crève-Cœur in Cologny until October 13.

The setting of the piece is based on a dinner between two couples of friends. Jo and Steph, “a very cool couple”, invite their friends Rose, an accountant, and Bernard, a psychoanalyst. A moment of conviviality in appearance, but which will very quickly turn into confrontation. The plot gradually reveals the underlying tensions, the small betrayals, the jealousies and the unsaid things. The characters, although linked by a long friendship, find themselves confronted with their own contradictions and weaknesses, which gives rise to situations that are both comic and dramatic.

Another way of working

This is Elena Hazanov’s first production. She says she had the chance to collaborate with the author of the play Georges Guerreiro. As for the actors, she has already made films with most of them. “But there we found ourselves collaborating on stage. It’s really an exchange in the work. The rehearsals are much longer, and little by little I saw the extent of the work that awaited me. It’s another way of working, she says. When we have done a magnificent rehearsal, we cannot say “action, it’s in the box”.”

On stage, we will find Gaspard Boesch, Camille Figuereo, Frédéric Landenberg and Barbaro Tobola. As for the director, she says she is satisfied with the result and plans to make a film adaptation. In the meantime, “Entre Amis” can be seen at the Crève-Cœur theater in Cologny until October 13.
