Dakar, Oct 6 (APS) – The platform of former volunteers of the initiative program for the local development of the national civic service (PLAISE civic), calls on all stakeholders to make good citizenship and citizenship the engine of Senegal of tomorrow.

”Civility is not a simple option, it is a necessity. Together, let’s make civic-mindedness and citizenship the engine of tomorrow’s Senegal. May respect for the laws, solidarity, and love of our country be our guides in this noble mission,” declared the president of PLAISE Civic, Mohamed Lamine Thioune.

Speaking on Saturday during the official launch ceremony of the activities of his platform, he maintained that “civicness is a value that allows us to live together with mutual respect, to build a just and equitable society, and to lay the foundations for sustainable development for our country”.

According to him, “it is up to us all to demonstrate good citizenship in our daily actions, and to instill this value in our children, so that together we can build a prosperous, peaceful and united Senegal”.

”Promoting civic and civic values is not an easy task, but it is a necessary task. It is a collective enterprise that must involve all stakeholders in our society: families, schools, religious leaders, public institutions, and of course, ourselves, as citizens,” he stressed. .

Mr. Thioune thus invited the entire population to become aware of “our common responsibility”, believing that “each Senegalese citizen has a role to play in making our country a model of civics, justice and solidarity in Africa and in the world”.

“By cultivating these values, we will strengthen social peace, we will encourage sustainable development, and we will leave a precious legacy to future generations,” according to the president of PLAISE civic.
