the Champigny-sur- police station once again targeted by fireworks mortars

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, the Champigny-sur- police station (Val-de-Marne) was the target of fireworks mortars. This is not the first time that the establishment has been targeted.

The Champigny-sur-Marne police station came under fire from new fireworks mortars. Last night, around 2 a.m., individuals threw fireworks in the direction of the town police station, CNEWS learned.

The police then used intermediate defense means to stop the disturbance and disperse the protagonists. An individual was arrested.

No damage was noted and no injuries were recorded during these events. Security in the sector was put in place and the situation returned to normal.

Reda Belhaj, spokesperson for the UN1TÉ Ile-de- police union, was keen to support her targeted colleagues: “This night at 2:15 a.m., the police station was once again attacked with mortars by around thirty individuals. Congratulations to the staff who carried out an arrest. Hoping for a firm criminal response against the alleged perpetrator.”

A place often targeted

Particularly because of its location, in the heart of the sensitive l’Abbé district, the Champigny-sur-Marne police station is often targeted. In the summer of 2022, two attacks had already occurred in the space of two weeks.

Each time, several dozen people fired fireworks and other projectiles at the facade of the establishment.

Events which result from tensions around ongoing cases, involving residents of the municipality.
