Kédougou, Oct 5 (APS) – The governor of Kédougou (south-east), Mariama Traoré, welcomed on Saturday the mobilization of the populations of the eponymous commune on the occasion of the fifth edition of the national cleaning day dedicated to establishments schools.

“It is a great satisfaction because people have mobilized to clean all the schools in the city of Kédougou for a good start to the school year from Monday in accordance with the instructions given by the higher authorities,” she explained on the sidelines. cleaning operations.

This 5th edition of the national cleaning day took place in the presence of academic authorities, decentralized technical services, school management committees (CGE), youth structures and educational communities.

”We have almost finished repacking and rehabilitating some schools which had an access problem due to water and all arrangements have been made. The sand loading trucks and the fire and hygiene services are still hard at work to allow the students to get off to a good start at school,” she reassured.

The administrative authority welcomed the commitment of school management committees (CGE) to support education through citizenship activities.

“I think that the school is the business of the community and above all there needs to be community commitment,” she added.

She invited the local authorities of the Kédougou region to take charge of the grievances raised at the level of certain schools for a successful start to the school year in the Kédougou region.
