Round tables, author meetings, readings, cinema, tea dancing… the proposals are varied for the Spring Banquet of the Les arts de lire cultural center, at Lagrasse Abbey.

From Friday May 10 to Sunday May 12, Les arts de lire de l’Abbaye de Lagrasse, a new regional cultural center labeled 3rd cultural meeting center in Occitanie, offers its Spring Banquet, thus developing the long tradition of the place, which has hosted since 25 years of the Book Banquets, initiated by the Le marque-page association. For this new meeting, the chosen theme concerns “Reconstituted History”.

Three days of meetings open to all

This Banquet is open to all and “is not a university conference”, specifies the programming team, but a time for reflection and exchange “because historians are not the only ones to be worked on by the “History. Literature, theater, cinema, no artistic field seems to escape the contemporary necessity of summoning the events of the past, of reconstituting them in order to constantly reformulate the story.”
Through meetings with authors, readings, round tables and other proposals (read below), this Banquet invites a broad journey, willingly profuse and sometimes contradictory, in the way of reconstituting the historical story. He delves into the texts that form the Source, leading to often surprising interpretations. For three days, the public is invited to meet speakers from different backgrounds, including writers, filmmakers, historians, anthropologists, artists, journalists, researchers… A wide range of analytical possibilities of History, contributing to a critical spirit , with a broader reflection on the subject.
