A drone was intercepted near the Douai remand center during the night from Friday to Saturday, according to Voix du Nord. He came to deliver packages to inmates. Around 1 a.m., the police spotted a drone flying over the prison. Three deliveries were made, despite hazardous piloting.

The drone leaves, followed by the anti-crime brigade (BAC), and lands one kilometer from the prison. The police come upon the pilot of the machine. Nearby, a Citroën C3 immediately drives off, but is also stopped by the police. At the wheel, the pilot’s wife with two children aged 1 and 3 on board. She is suspected of complicity.

Phones, SIM cards…

At their home, a drone package was found with several smartphones and a little over a gram of cannabis. One of the packages delivered and found by police contained two phones, SIM cards, chargers, ten cigarettes and pepper. The couple has been in an irregular situation since their arrival in France in 2021 and 2022. The man was sentenced to eight months in prison. The woman was sentenced to 6 months in prison with a simple suspended sentence. Their children were placed.
