Emma Chambon is the last bastion of the National 2 women’s team of Handball Club Marmandais. At 29 years old, this goalkeeper from the south-east of France who has experienced the semi-professional level is also constable within the gendarmerie squadron mobile of Marmande in Lot-et-Garonne.

She is the only Lot-et-Garonnaise to have been selected to participate in the French military handball championship which took place from March 19 to 21, 2024 in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin in Normandy. She won the title of champion of France with the police team.

This competition brought together the men’s and women’s teams of the gendarmerie, the Army, the army, the air and space, and the National Navy.

“It’s a unique human adventure. We share similar values ​​in the mobile gendarmerie, we travel together all the time,” explains Emma Chambon who was selected for the second year in a row.

Thanks to its victory against the Army, a draw against the Air and Space Army and the withdrawal of the Navy, the women’s team of the gendarmerie won its seventh consecutive title.

“It was closer than in previous years and in terms of handball it is always very interesting,” judges Emma who did not hide her pride when she received her medal. “It’s the culmination of two years of training and obviously a lot of pride to represent the gendarmerie. It’s just a bonus and it brings some experience for HBC Marmandais.”
