In recent days, Netflix subscribers have received a new email from the American streaming giant. Not to announce to them that a new series is available, or to suggest that they continue watching a film. No, it was to inform them of a price increase. Written in English, the email, titled “Upcoming Pricing Update,” continues: “Thank you for being a valued member since 2017. We hope you enjoy everything Netflix has to offer . We are updating the price of the Standard plan to 20.90 fr. […] on June 3, 2024.”

In this message, Netflix is careful not to announce the value of this “update”. In reality, the subscription price increases from 18.90 to 20.90 francs, an increase of 11%. “You will always find something that suits you and is suitable for the moment. In the next month alone, we’re releasing 77 shows and movies! Whether you want to rewatch your old favorites or discover something new, we have what you need,” says the company in the rest of its message.
