Louga, Oct 5 (APS) – The Minister, Secretary General of the Government, Ahmadou Al Aminou Lo, urged on Saturday in Louga (north), the actors of the education system of the region to make the school “the spearhead of the systemic transformation of Senegal”.

“The school must not only limit itself to teaching, but to encourage vocations, particularly at the high school level, so we invite the school to be the spearhead of the systemic transformation of Senegal,” he said. he declared.

Ahmadou Al Aminou Lo was speaking to journalists at the end of his visit to the Guéoul high school, in the Kébémer department, carried out as part of the activities of the fifth national day “Sétal sunu reew”, dedicated to schools.

He was accompanied by the governor of the Louga region, Ndèye Nguénar Mbodj and the Academy Inspector (IA), Penda Ba Wone.

Mr. Lo insisted on “the importance of education as a pillar of national development”, stressing that “it is often in these establishments that the professional aspirations of young people are forged”.

The minister reiterated “the State’s commitment to supporting the education sector”. “The State will spare no effort to support education, an area which has already benefited from two Interministerial Councils in six months,” he recalled.

He also underlined “the insistence of the President of the Republic on a successful start to the school year and good collaboration with the teaching staff”.

He encouraged schools, such as the Guéoul high school, to integrate income-generating activities such as fish farming, “in order to prepare students for future vocations”.

“The State will be at your side to support you,” he assured.

Since the launch of the citizen mobilization days, several problems have been raised, but the minister welcomed “the solutions provided to urgent questions”.

The minister praised “the efforts made as part of the citizen mobilization days”, stressing that “several problems had been resolved thanks to this initiative”.

According to him, “the State remained alongside the establishments”.
