The Atlas ofbiodiversityintercommunale (ABI), launched by the agglomeration Melun Val de Seinehas the mission of knowing, preserving and promoting its natural heritage. “We wanted to involve residents so that everyone can become an actor in this environmental approach.“, noted Françoise Lefebvrevice-president of the Melun Val de Seine urban community delegated to theEnvironment and living environment.

So how does it work ? LABI is carried out by theinventory of the wildlife and some floraand habitats. This is the fruit of a collaboration between experts and the citizens invited to collect this data. Workshops participatory sciencesupervised by a naturalist from Seine-et-Marne Environmentare offered in the municipalities of theMelun Val de Seine agglomeration, free and open to all.

Knowledge and participatory approach

Three groups ofobservations are offered: garden birds, pollinating insects and wild plants from my street. After Saint-Fargeau-Ponthierry And VoisenonMelun, Rubelles, Dammarie-lès-Lys And Boissise-la-Bertrand will host workshops in May and June, open to all, eventhey are located inmunicipalities other than that of your residence.
