Drunk and drugged, he runs to escape the gendarmes and falls into the ditch in Nérac

Two drivers were arrested by the gendarmes in Lot-et-Garonne. Drunk, they both tried to flee controls and refused to comply… The events took place between Monday May 6 and Tuesday May 7, 2024 in Cuzorn and Nérac.

It was a little after one o’clock last night when the police wanted to check a driver in Nérac. The latter tried to flee at the wheel of his car. A rather incredible escape…

In fact, his vehicle stopped in the middle of the road following a loss of control. The driver then got out to run away. But in his flight, he is fell into the ditch, getting slightly injured. Taken care of by firefighters, he was evacuated to Agen hospital.

Tests carried out on the driver proved positive for alcohol and drug use. The 30-year-old driver was taken into police custody.

In Cuzorn, a few hours earlier

Monday at 6:30 p.m., a 39-year-old man was arrested in Cuzorn. He too had tried to escape the control of the police. Caught by the military, he accumulated the offenses:

• criminal blood alcohol content
• lack of insurance
• more valid technical inspection

He was also taken into custody.
