Flowers, giants and childishness: our selection of outings in the Tarn this week

the essential
Every week, La Dépêche du Midi brings you its selection of unmissable outings and shows for the Tarn. Concerts, exhibitions, festivals… Good deals to consume without moderation.

Gaillac. Feathers and flowers at Parc Foucaud

Traditionally, every May 8, on the occasion of the “Les Floréales” market, Parc Foucaud sees many colorful stands adorning its paths. This year will be no exception with 45 exhibitors at the meeting: flowers, plants, rare spices, horticulture, market gardening, crafts… Everything to delight garden enthusiasts.

At the same time, Parc Foucaud will also host the “Plumes d’Occitanie” exhibition. Around thirty regional writers and publishers will be present all day in the bucolic atmosphere of the park, a stone’s throw from the flower stands. Two meetings gathered in the same place for a spring walk.

Albi. A tailor-made festival for children

A sparkling program designed for children, open-access games, creative workshops and escape games to share with the family: the “Les Enfantillades” festival is back in the Parc du Castelnau from May 8 to 11.

For its 6th edition, the young audience festival has expanded somewhat. A large part of the programming has been specially designed for toddlers (from 1 year old) and a large participatory game has been designed around the live show. With the ambition still intact to offer our little ones quality shows. Beautiful moments to share with family during this long weekend.

Lautrec. The “giants” in the spotlight

This long weekend did not hinder the weekly rhythm of the Lautrecois café. Wednesday evening, the Plùm bookstore offers a reading of children’s albums around the theme “Living”. Drawing workshop and snack will also be on the program. Thursday, movie evening with Le Colporteur d’images. Friday evening concert with rock accents with the arrival of Jérémie Bossone, whose atypical voice and universe make him a real UFO of French song.

Albi. Film debate with our mayors

To mark the release of the documentary film “Our Mayors”, the Arcé d’Albi room is offering a screening, Saturday May 11, followed by a time of discussion with the director Gérard Poujade and several protagonists of the film.
“Our mayors” highlights twelve city councilors across France, mayors of small rural communities.

Through long interviews, blunt conversations, they tell us about the daily life of the chief magistrate of a municipality. A film to better understand the role of mayor and the men and women who choose to take it on. Eight of the twelve city councilors interviewed will be present at the Athanor to enrich the debate.

Puylaurens in the colors of Italy

Like every year, Puylaurens celebrates its twinning with the Italian town of Mulazzo. Last year, the Tarnais crossed the Alps to meet for Europe Day. This weekend, the festivities will take place in Puylaurens, days of exchanges and meetings for which a delegation of 50 Italians will travel.

Saturday, May 11, a very varied program awaits from Tarn and Italy in Puylaurens: theater, concert, rugby demonstration, pétanque tournament, games and shared meal. Organized by local associations and the City, the Europe Festival is nothing other than a pretext for meeting and discovering neighboring cultures.
