Vosges. The wall of a house collapses in the Moselle in Golbey

The morning calm of rue des Cités Despruines in Golbey was abruptly interrupted when the entire section of a house, part of a former industrial building, collapsed. Around 8:30 a.m., the residents of the house raised the alarm.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The family, made up of a couple and their children aged 14 and 17, was in the home at the time of the disaster. She will be rehoused by the town hall. On the other hand, the damage was considerable: an entire side of the house collapsed, sending debris into the Moselle and requiring major consolidation work.

Water infiltration

According to initial findings, it appears that water infiltration was the cause of the collapse.

On the scene, Philippe Clerc, deputy in charge of security, underlines “the scale of the incident”. The area has been cordoned off by municipal police, while firefighters work to reinforce the remaining structure and clear debris, including that which fell into the neighboring Moselle.

A drone was deployed to carry out an aerial survey and take photographs of the scene.
