GARD The “Passes reserved for cyclists” operation is back

The opportunity to challenge the climbs of the Gard by bike and without cars.

The Col de la Lusette, the Col du Minier and the Col du Lac will be exclusively reserved for cyclists during seven mornings and one evening in the months of May, July and August during which the passes will be closed to all motorized vehicles, between the 8 May and August 18, 2024.

Carried out in partnership with the Sud-Cévennes tourist office, this initiative aims to promote cycling and highlight the Sud Cévennes territory. It is in line with the guidelines adopted by the Departmental Council for Mobility and Sport in 2023-2024. The course is open to all cycling enthusiasts, whether experienced or not, or even professionals.

Here are the modifications caused by the event:

The Col de la Lusette (RD329) will be reserved for cyclists on Sunday May 12, between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. Sunday July 28 between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tuesday August 6 between 6 p.m. and 11:59 p.m. Access to Esperou will be possible via the Col du Minier (RD48N) or via Valleraugue (RD 986)

The Col du Minier (RD48N) will be reserved for cyclists on Wednesday May 8 between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday July 21 between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday August 18 between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Access to Esperou will be possible via Valleraugue (RD 986)

The Col du Lac (RD317) will be reserved for cyclists on Sunday May 26 between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday August 4 between 7 a.m. and 11 a.m. Access to Cézas will be possible via the RD 317 (La Cadière-et-Cambo).
