Carcassonne: repeat drug dealer sentenced to one year in prison, with a ban on appearing in Aude for three years

This Monday, May 6, a 19-year-old man from Carcasson was tried in immediate appearance to answer for laundering a crime, as well as possession and transfer of narcotics.

Never two without three… On March 11, Adam was sentenced to a six-month prison sentence with a suspended probationary period in court on prior admission of guilt (CRPC). We were there on the possession and sale of narcotics, on the famous drug deal point in the Fleming city. While he was on probation, with care and work obligations, as well as a ban on appearing in Fleming, it was nevertheless in this difficult neighborhood of Carcassonne that Adam was again arrested by the police on April 14, while he was without a seat belt behind the wheel of a car that did not belong to him. No narcotics in his possession that day, but €1,000 in cash on him… And nearly €6,000 more crudely concealed in the vehicle. On these facts, he was released after his custody, as part of a continuing investigation. Nothing to worry Adam more than that, since it is still near this deal point in the Fleming city that the young Carcassonnais will be caught, on Friday May 3 in the evening. This time, he had sixty-three doses of cocaine (67 grams) and nearly 128 grams of cannabis resin in his possession. Whether for the events of April or the last ones of this month of May, Adam systematically refused to give the unlock code for his phones.

Placed under arrest warrant since Saturday May 4, it was under escort of prison officers that Adam arrived in court for his immediate appearance judgment this Monday afternoon. Aged 19, he had to answer for “crime laundering”as well as the “detention” and some “transfer of narcotics”. The two procedures from April and May have been joined. From the height of the three convictions that he already has in his criminal record, the defendant has taken responsibility for the alleged facts: “They came to take me from my home. I suffered pressure and threats. There are several of us in this situation. They know where I live, I am alone with my father…” Of the €7,000 discovered in the car, he only admits to being the owner of the €1,000 found on him: “These are the profits from my catering business during Ramadan.” From Adam’s personality, we learn that he is supposed to live with his mother in Mulhouse, but that he returned to Carcassonne to his father following an argument with her. Today, “I want to get as far away from Carcassonne as possible to avoid all these problems”.

An idle youth where it’s always the same profile…

At the public prosecutor’s office, the deputy prosecutor could only regret the defendant’s involvement in drug trafficking, despite the warnings given: “It’s quite disarming, worrying!” The sentence of one year in prison was thus requested, with continued detention and a ban on residence in Aude for three years. For the defense, Me Hichem Laredj spoke about “this idle youth, where it’s always the same profile… My client lives 500 meters from Fleming and we come to pick him up. There are ten others like him!” At the end of its deliberations, the court finally sentenced Adam to one year in prison with continued detention. While ordering future accommodation in the form of home detention under electronic surveillance (DDSE), at his mother’s home in Alsace. For three years, he will also be banned from appearing in the Aude department.
