Lhe Ile-de-France Region and the Australian state of Victoria concluded a cooperation agreement this Thursday. This agreement, signed by the President (LR) of Ile-de-France Valérie Pécresse, and Tim Pallas, the Treasurer and Minister of Economic Growth of the State of Victoria, came after discussions “ nourished and regular » between the two territories. This agreement, “ without time limit ”, is the 23e cooperation agreement that Ile-de-France signs with a large region of the world.
It provides in particular for cooperation in matters of economic development, in “ priority sectors » such as transport, renewable energies or even new technologies (AI, quantum, etc.). “ Started in 2022, the partnership has already enabled more than 100 Victorian companies to be in contact with the Ile-de-France Region and, to date, Choose Paris Region supports more than 40 Victorian companies in their investment project in Ile-de-France », Underlines the Regional Council.
Other areas are targeted such as “ l’excellence sportive » (via sharing of expertise on the organization of major sporting events or on technological solutions in the field of sport), « cultural excellence » in the field of creative industries (performing arts, visual arts, music, design, digital game development, cinema, television, fashion, literature and publishing), or even research and innovation by promoting partnerships, “ particularly between industry and universities ».
This cooperation also aims to “ promote diversity, inclusion and increased participation of women by leading joint events to highlight female commitment and leaders in all sectors, notably through Global Victoria Women, an organization dedicated to promoting and supporting female entrepreneurship », completes and explains the Region.
