League of Nations. Lyonnais Malick Fofana called up by Belgium to face the Blues

This Friday, October 4, Belgium coach Domenico Tedesco revealed his list of players to face Italy on October 10 then (on the 14th) in the Nations League. Lyonnais Malick Fofana was called up for the first time while the absences of Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku are well confirmed.

Like Didier Deschamps with the France team, Domenico Tedesco revealed his list of players selected for the international window dedicated to the Nations League.

While the Red Devils will meet the Blues on October 14 after their defeat in the first leg (2-0), the selection from across Quiévrain will be able to include a new addition. Indeed, Olympique Lyonnais striker Malick Fofana was summoned for the first time for this gathering.

Four new Red Devils

At 19, the Belgian has had a very good start to the season with Les Gones, notably scoring three goals in his last two matches against in Ligue 1 and Rangers in the Europa League. Fofana will not be the only rookie for this Nations League session since Tedesco has called up three other new players: Cyril Ngonge (Naples), Matte Smets (Genk) and Maarten Vandevoordt (RB Leipzig).

On the other hand, Belgium will have to do as planned without Kevin De Bruyne, Romelu Lukaku but also ’s Thomas Meunier.
