Even with the rumble that is being felt, political analyst Mario Dumont suggests that it would be rather complex to dislodge the mayor of Montreal, Valérie Plante, during the next municipal elections which will take place in 2025.

“For me, tomorrow morning, if I had to make a prediction, Valérie Plante is going to be re-elected like a bullet,” he explains, Thursday, to La Joute des analysts.

Waste management, the environment and cycle paths are the main issues which create discontent among citizens, according to the presenter at LCN.

However, these aspects are the core of the electoral base, which would help the mayor win.

“There is a Projet Montréal clientele [le parti de Valérie Plante] who likes it and who wants to see it again,” he emphasizes.

The new “moorning-man” at QUB is wondering in particular about a future candidacy that could replace Ms. Plante.

“Is he really going to have someone running against her,” he wonders.

“So infuriating”

TVA Nouvelles journalist Yves Poirier and citizens of Hochelaga-Maisonneuve went to a site full of waste to completely clean it up, despite repeated calls to the City of Montreal.

Remains of computers, microwaves, pieces of cardboard, shoes and even dirty syringes were found on the corner of rue Notre-Dame and avenue Bourbonnière.

Emmanuelle Latraverse, for her part, finds the situation “so exasperating”.

“There are basic things in the life of a city: garbage collection and snow removal. You start there,” she explains.

For Valérie Plante “the basic games of the city are secondary”, believes the columnist at Montreal Journal.
