On May 28, the Olympic flame – in reality, there are two – will complete its journey in seven stages through Maine-et-Loire. Its safety, as well as that of its carriers “will be provided by elite police officers and gendarmes”, explains Philippe Chopin. But the prefect of Maine-et-Loire and the police are also called upon to secure “the journey, the events and the people who came to witness this passage”.
