SENEGAL-EDUCATION-INFRASTRUCTURES / Tambacounda: three classrooms and a borehole offered to the elementary school of Dar Salam – Senegalese press agency

Tambacounda, Oct 2 (APS) – The Association for the Welfare of Children in Difficulty (ADEB International) organized, Tuesday, a foundation stone laying ceremony for the construction of three rooms and a drilling for the benefit of the Dar Salam elementary school, in the commune of Tambacounda (east).

“The project consists of building and equipping three classrooms, an office, a store, toilet blocks and a borehole,” explained its president, Omer Idrissa Ouédragao.

The president of the Association for the Welfare of Children in Difficulty spoke during the ceremony, in the presence of the mayor of the commune of Tambacounda, Pape Banda Dièye.

According to Omer Idrissa Ouédragao, the objective of ADEB International is to support, through this project, state policies and to contribute to improving the living and study conditions of children.

Mr. Ouédragao indicated that the overall cost of the project amounts to more than 45 million CFA francs. The work is planned to last four months.

The mayor of Tambacounda, Pape Banda Dièye, praised the benefits of this initiative which will support the policies of the State and local authorities in strengthening the education sector.

“ADEB International is an association that works in the social field. They came to support us to close the gap in relation to temporary shelters and improve the living environment in schools,” welcomed the councilor.

ABED International is an association of volunteers whose head office is in Ouagadougou.

According to its leaders, the association operates in more than ten African countries but also in Germany and the United States.
