There were still seven of them and now there are only three. After the weekend’s eliminations of Vineuil Sports Football (N3), US Vendôme (R3), Foot Sud 41 (R3) and US Chitenay-Cellettes (D1), only three clubs in the department are still in the race before the 5the round of the Coupe de France which marks the entry into the running of the National clubs: Blois Foot 41, SO Romorantin and AS Contres.
And it was this Wednesday, October 2, 2024, in the Warsemann automobile dealership in Blois, that the Centre-Val de Loire League carried out the draw for the next round, in the presence of ADA Blois basketball player Timothé Vergiat.
N3 for Contres (R3) and Blois Foot 41 (N2)
AS Contres (R3), now Petit Poucet loir-et-chérien, who beat FC Gâtine-Choisilles (D1, 4-1) on Sunday afternoon, will have to perform a feat because they pulled ES du Moulon de Bourges (N3 du Cher), formation playing three divisions above.
For the two clubs which play at the national level, the draw was not as lenient for one as for the other. Blois Foot 41 (N2) will indeed travel to the pitch of US Châteauneuf-sur-Loire (N3 du Loiret), while SO Romorantin will go on the other side to Eure-et-Loir to face the ES Nogent-le-Roi (R3).
Its matches are currently scheduled for Sunday October 13, with the possibility of moving forward to Saturday evening.
