During the last standing committee, the Deux-Sèvres Departmental Council reiterated its annual support for the Food Bank to the tune of 116,000 euros:
- 100,000 euros for the purchase of food products in addition to donations and collections received. This support makes it possible to compensate for deficiencies and meet the nutritional needs of poor people benefiting from the support of departmental charitable associations;
- 16,000 euros for the implementation of its action “Together, let’s help people restore themselves”. This action aims to strengthen the food aid provided to the most deprived by helping them to make the best use of foodstuffs through training for volunteers on hygiene, food safety and a balanced diet.
An envelope of 100,000 euros is also voted and partly intended for the purchase of local products. “Support that meets one of the objectives of the Territorial Food Project (PAT) of the Department of Deux-Sèvres, namely accessibility for all to local, quality food”indicates the Department. “The Food Bank was involved in the construction of the action plan for this PAT. »
Aid to the UNSS
50,000 euros were also voted in favor of the UNSS 79 Departmental Committee. The latter develops its actions throughout the Deux-Sèvres territory and as such ensures, at lower cost for families, access to different sporting practices. This support from the community is part of its desire to encourage and develop the sporting practice of middle school students.
