The Orne department experienced several rave parties from 2021 to 2023, notably in Boichampré, near Argentan, Saint-Brice-sous-Rânes, Saint-Clair-de-Halouze…

The Orne prefecture announces, this Friday, May 3, 2024, the ban on festive gatherings of a musical nature (of the type rave party, teknival Or free party), throughout the territory of the department, “other than those legally declared or authorized”, from Friday May 3, 8 p.m. to Monday May 6, 7 a.m.

The transport of amplified sound broadcasting equipment prohibited in Orne

This decree applies to the traffic of all vehicle carrying of material broadcast of amplified music for these unauthorized festive gatherings on all road networks in the Orne department during the same period.

“Any violation of this order is subject to the sanctions provided for in article R.211-27 of the Internal Security Code.”

Security, tranquility, helping people…

In its decree, the prefecture considers in particular:

— “that no prior declaration has been filed with the prefect of Orne, specifying the predictable number of participants as well as measures envisaged by the organizers events to ensure the securitythere healthinesshygiene and tranquility public;

— the need to prevent high risk of public disorder; that the number of people expected in this type of gathering is high; that the appropriate means in terms of help to people as well as in terms of road safety cannot be combined;

— the urgency to prevent risks of harm to public order and tranquility and general administrative police powers;

– that the Vigipirate planis at Emergency level attack throughout the national territory, attesting to a high level of threat and that a gathering of this type could constitute an opportunity for major disturbance of public order…
