The gathering, planned for this Saturday in Mazan, was organized by an association specializing in personal reconstruction therapy, at the request of women victims of violence.
The trial has shaken the entire country since its opening on September 2. Gisèle Pelicot faces her ex-husband, Dominique Pelicot, accused of having chemically drugged her for ten years in order to deliver her unconscious to strangers who raped her. Fifty of them appear before the courts.
After demonstrations throughout France to support the victim, a white march is organized this Saturday, October 5 at 2:30 p.m. in Mazan. It is the Isofaculté association which is at the origin of this gathering. This is a group specializing in personal reconstruction therapy through mediation with horses. A group of women victims of violence and members of the association made the request. “This affair resonated with them”tells us Daniel Sylvestre, director of Isofaculté.

“They feel concerned and affected” by the trial, the director explains to us. Although the term “white march” is confusing, everything has been thought of and chosen. “White, because we want it to be something peacefulunderlines Daniel Sylvestre. It is a walk that is done with dignity. There are no demands: it is a surge of solidarity. We want it to be clean, healthy and quiet.”he declares to Figaro.
At the end of the walk, some women from the association will be able to testify and share their experience. A way for her to confide what they experienced and tell about their reconstruction process, “to give hope”adds the director.
“Mazan is able to move”
All along, a «support musical» will accompany the march. But he will remain “very very sober”however, underlines Daniel Sylvestre, specifying that two poems will also be read.
“There is a need for society to become aware. For a very long time, these women remained silent”he relates. Isofaculté works with other associations of women victims of violence who will also be present during this white march. For Daniel Sylvestre, it is necessary “show that Mazan is capable of moving.”
