The accumulation of precipitation over the month of September allows the support of rivers which see their flow rates increase. Taking into account the weather forecasts, the hydrological situation continues to improve.
Consequently, after consulting the members of the operational low water management unit, Étienne GUYOT, prefect of Gironde, took an order Who ai read againthe measures taken in recent weeks in certain watersheds of the department’s rivers and their accompanying water table.
This decree lifts the restrictive measures on 10 watersheds: Chenal du Gua-Deyre-Talais, Canal des étangs, Bassanne–Beuve–Brion, Pimpine, Côtiers Est du Bassin d’Arcachon, Jalle de Castelnau, Laurina – Jalle de Ludon, Virvée-Moron, Gaillardon–Euille and Lisos.
This decree reduces the restrictive measures at the threshold ofALERT on 5 watersheds: Barbanne–Lavié–Palais, Lidoire, Fongaband – Langrane, Gamage-Escouach etGravouse-Durèze-Soulège and maintains the following restrictions:
– on domestic and secondary uses:
- watering of vegetable gardens including non-agricultural greenhouses: prohibited from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.;
- watering of lawns, gardens, green spaces, sports fields: prohibited from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.;
- filling of public and private swimming pools: prohibited except for leveling and first filling if the work had started before the first restrictions;
- washing vehicles at private homes: prohibited;
– and on agricultural uses:
- ban on agricultural samples 2 days per week, i.e. Thursday and Sunday.
Since deep water tables are heavily used due to withdrawals made throughout the year, it remains necessary to ensure economical water management, in particular for uses which use water from drilling or from drinking water network (watering lawns for example), even in areas where no restrictive measures are taken.
