From Friday May 24 to Sunday June 2, 2024the festival Jazz on the Harp returns to Rennes, more precisely to Ferme de la Harpe, in the Villejean-Beauregard district.

This new edition is focused on the Americas. Jazz New Orleans Or Jazz from Brazil will be celebrated throughout the event through concerts, workshops, masterclasses, exhibitions, activities for young audiences, jam sessions, as many ways to discover jazz in all its diversity.

Here is the festival program with some free concerts:

  • Friday May 24, at 7 p.m.: Laia Onda – Roda de Samba, concert at the mechanical workshop, free access barbecue / Spanish inn (Free)
  • Sunday May 26, at 4 p.m.: conference concert J.Ravenel & E. Richardtribute to sydney bechet (Free) Ferme de la Harpe
  • Tuesday May 28, at 7 p.m.: Beauregard market, Banda Zilu (Free)
  • Wednesday May 29, at 3 p.m.: Le Cadran, hearing of students 3 looks (Free)
  • Thursday May 30, 9 p.m.: Parquet de Bal, Nadja Trio + Night of the Ox,
  • Friday May 31, 7:30 p.m.: Parquet de Bal, New Orleans evening, Rennes hot club, Thomas Gomez 4T and Aurélie Tropez 5set, (Paying: 5 to 15 euros).
  • Friday May 31, midnight: After Jam Session (Free)
  • Saturday June 1, at 7 p.m.: Brazil evening : 30 years of Toucouleurs, with workshops and concerts by Eric Le Lann, Jean Marie Ecay, Roberto Moreno 4tet at the Parquet de Bal (Paying: 5 to 15 euros).
  • Saturday June 1, midnight: Ferme de la Harpe, After Jam Session (Free)
  • Sunday June 2, at 1 p.m.: Spring FestivalBeauregard park (Free)

The Jazz à la Harpe festival in a few words

Supported by the association 3 LooksJazz à La Harpe has been attached, since 1999, to showcase all forms of expression linked to jazz, promoting amateur practices, promoting access for all to artistic practices and culture in general. Local, regional or national or international artists will be present!
