The scapular club scored its first victory of the season, Sunday September 29, against Seudre Océan (5-0) in the Coupe de France. But it is the subject of a reservation from the Charentais, who tilt on a very specific point of regulation.
The Girondin supporters were impatiently awaiting their first victory. It occurred on Sunday December 29, during the 4th round of the Coupe de France. The match ended in a quiet 5-0 for the scapular club, now in National 2, against Seudre Océan, a modest Departmental 1 team.
Problem: this victory has not yet been confirmed, more than 24 hours after the final whistle. On the French Football Federation website, the match summary is accompanied by the words “reserve”. And for good reason, the management of the Charente-Maritime amateur club has filed an appeal before the Ligue de Nouvelle-Aquitaine and is demanding a victory on the green carpet.
An innocuous Bordeaux change, made in the 89th minute, is at the heart of the grievance, reports Ouest-France. Affected, Emeric Depussay, midfielder, asks to be replaced. Bruno Irles takes note and chooses to bring in… Over Mandanda. If Steve’s little brother is also a goalkeeper, his coach thinks that he will be able to do the job in the midfield, knowing that qualification is a given.

Under articles 7.1 and 7.3. of the regulations of the Coupe de France, this change was not regulatory, argues the management of Seudre Océan.
“Subject to the provisions of Article 4.3, teams must be dressed in the colors of their club. Goalkeepers must wear a jersey of a color clearly distinguishing them from other players and the referee. To guard against any eventuality and in particular at the request of the referee or the delegate, the goalkeepers must have at their disposal two jerseys of different colors”, we can read in the first article.
The second indicates that “when a club decides to include the maximum number of players authorized on the match sheet, the registration of a substitute goalkeeper, numbered 16, is imperative”.
Or Over Mandanda made his entrance with a field player’s jersey on his back, with his number 16 tinkered with adhesive, reports Sud-Ouest.
It remains to be seen whether these arguments will be heard favorably by the League of New Aquitaine. And if the Bordelais will still have to wait before enjoying their first success of the season.
