medicinal products, will be tested. We take stock.

The industrial site has been in cessation of activity since May 31, 2023, but its security has not been carried out by the company. “Faced with this situation, the prefect of Pas-de-Calais decided to contact ADEME (Ecological Transition Agency) in September 2023 so that it can intervene as a technical and financial relay for the security of the site” , specifies the prefecture.

Since then, the agency’s intervention has enabled the withdrawal of the most sensitive products. This concerns all products in the family of amphetamines were removed from the site and disposed of in October 2023. The bromine was withdrawn at the end of December 2023. The sodium cyanide was evacuated in January 2024.

A new intervention by ADEME has been underway since April 1. “ It is now necessary to test the alarm to ensure its proper functioning and carry out checks on the site’s alert system,” it is indicated. This maneuver will be carried out by State services on Thursday May 2 from 11:45 a.m. “The signal and duration of this test may vary. No reaction is expected from the population. »

Similar tests will then be organized every first Wednesday of the month at 11:45 a.m. in conjunction with the public siren tests.
