On the occasion of International Workers’ Day this Wednesday, May 1, a demonstration will start in Paris from Place de la République to Nation.

Demonstration up to Nation

The demonstrators will gather on the Place de la République for a departure at 2 p.m. towards Nation. The procession will take the boulevards du Temple, des Filles-du-Calvaire, Place de la Bastille, rue de Lyon, avenue Daumesnil and boulevard Diderot to arrive around 7 p.m.

Numerous preventive checks will take place this Tuesday evening around the demonstration route, according to a police Source at BFMTV. According to a territorial intelligence note consulted by BFMTV, between 15,000 and 30,000 demonstrators are expected in the capital.

The Paris police headquarters indicates, in a press release, that a “traffic system will be put in place around the event” and advises motorists to “circumvent the area widely throughout the duration of the event”.

At 11 a.m., another gathering must leave from Place des Fêtes, and at noon near the Metallos house on rue Jean-Pierre Timbaud.

At the national level, 340 gatherings are planned throughout France with 130,000 to 150,000 participants expected, according to our information.
