Cyclists will take over the Vidailhan de Balma district this Wednesday, May 1st. Like every year, the Balma Vélo Sprint (BVS) organizes the Grand Prix du Muguet in the streets of Balma and near the Balma-Gramont metro station, closed for the day in the same way as the other Toulouse stations.
Next to 250 runners should take the start of the ninth edition of this four-kilometer race. The fourth and fifth category runners will start first at 1:30 p.m. at the roundabout of the rue Saint-Jean and some rue Galilée.
Which areas to avoid?
There rue Saint-Jean (from the Balma-Gramont metro to the Intermarché) as well as theavenue des Arènes will be closed to traffic 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.. You will therefore have to plan ahead when traveling.
Likewise to attend the grand prix which brings together cyclists from “ good regional level »according to Lionel Montmasson, president of Balma Vélo Sprint.
“An important event for the club”
This competition is an “important event for the club. Around thirty licensees participate and fifty organize it for three months,” adds the manager.
Lionel Montmasson nevertheless expects lower attendance. “For cyclists, it is always difficult when the weather is rainy. »
