The floods that hit Pas-de-Calais in November 2023 and January 2024 left their mark.
In a great show of solidarity, many anonymous people donated a lot of money.
The amount collected made it possible to distribute vouchers to the victims of Blendecques.
This Monday, April 29, took place the first day of distribution of some 3,500 vouchers, or 35,000 euros, given by the “Blendecques disaster” association to families affected by the floods of November 2023 and January 2024.
In the hands of Bernadette, victim of the floods, requested in the subject at the top of this article, there are 70 euros of vouchers, offered to the victims of Blendecques (Pas-de-Calais): “It will do us good already”she says in the subject at the top of this article. “It will help us, because there has been a lot of work.” In the line are all the people who, like her, are victims of repeated floods.
Online operations and donations to raise money
To help them get back on their feet, the local association collected 35,000 euros in donations. A considerable sum which “comes from various events that we have organized, such as theater and choir and also online donations”explains Sylvie Wident, treasurer of the “Blendecques disaster” association.
These coupons distributed to disaster victims are only valid in businesses in Blendecques until the end of May, namely the supermarket, the hair salon, the haberdashery or the bakery.
