Coupe de : the Brivois Rescuers overthrow Sucs-et-Lignon

After conceding the opener very early in the game, in front of its audience, Brives (R3) was able to demonstrate efficiency and solidity to come back and win 3-1 against Sucs-et-Lignon (R2), this Saturday evening. The Brivois Rescuers will therefore see the 5th round of the Coupe de .

However, the meeting started very badly for the locals, at the Louis-Exbrayat stadium in Brives-Charensac. The Yssingelais struck first through Damien Samouillet, who opened the scoring in the 5th minute of play, with a shot from the edge of the area. His ball floated before hitting the crossbar and crossing the goal line. Brives responded immediately, with a similar action. But Mathis Villars’ shot was diverted for a corner by Alexis Devidal.

Massard and Brives overturn everything in two minutes

The match took a completely different turn at the half-hour mark. Well shifted each time to his left side, Yanis Massard scored two goals in the space of two minutes to give the locals the advantage (32nd, 2-1 ). In the second act, Thomas Lhoste brought in Elian Tack and switched to a two-attacker system, to allow Sucs-et-Lignon to equalize. If the visitors managed to get their foot on the ball and occupy the opponent’s half, their clear chances were rare. Conversely, the Brivois Rescuers tried to defend well and perfectly exploit the slightest attacking ball. On one of them, in the 66th minute, Samuel Pierzak produced a festival before unleashing a shot which flew into the top corner (3-1).

Brives holds on until the end

The break was made and despite all their efforts, the Yssingelais were unable to reduce the gap. It was even Brives who could have added to the score, at the very end of the match, with a free kick which hit the post. Finally, Michaël Pierzak’s protégés won 3-1, against a team that plays on the upper level and which remained undefeated until now.

Coupe de France: a derby between Chadrac and Espaly is “still involved”

The Sauveteurs Brivois are therefore qualified for the 5th round of the Coupe de France, which is marked by the entry into the running of the National clubs.
