Three departments are on yellow alert this Sunday due to strong winds. A few days after having already experienced strong disturbances (with the Aitor depression), vigilance remains essential.
It’s going to blow over the Breton coasts. The capricious weather, which has already marked the last few days in the northwest region, seems to persist.
This new depression is driven by a jet stream, that is to say a wind current at high altitude which pushes the lower depressions. This depression will mark the entire northwest of the country (Great West, Brittany and Normandy).
According to estimates, the yellow vigilance this Sunday should only be the kick-off for several days of disruption. The wind is expected to intensify in the afternoon and last several hours, before returning to normal in the early evening.
In Normandy on the other hand, the winds should arrive a little later: during the night from Sunday to Monday, between midnight and three in the morning. According to the majority of models, the Cotentin coasts risk being the most exposed. Winds of up to 100 km/h are expected.
