An employee of the Annemasse urban community died this Thursday, September 26 in the morning in tragic circumstances. While he was on duty, taking readings on a meter in a suburban area of the town of Cranves-Sales (Haute-Savoie), the man was hit by a small van.
When emergency services arrived on site, the employee was in cardiorespiratory arrest. They tried to revive him several times, to no avail. The 60-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Smur doctor. The craftsman driving the van was taken care of, very shocked.
A gendarmerie investigation has been opened to shed light on the tragedy. According to initial information, the driver of the van did not see the victim who was near his vehicle when he drove off, at the exit of a private road.
