“The pressure on farms is immense” declared Friday October 18 on franceinfo Antoine Duthu, the president of the Young Farmers of Côte-d’Or after several mobilizations of farmers in France the same day. “We are not taken seriously, we are not supported”he lamented.
In Dijon, 300 farmers demonstrated in front of the Burgundy-Franche-Comté Regional Council. They are particularly angry about the serious delays in payment of grants in the region. These include in particular “the endowment of young farmers”which is missing for 440 farmers in Burgundy-Franche-Comté, as well as “files for adaptation to climate change and modernization of buildings” for which 1,700 files remain to be paid, for an amount of 27 million euros, detailed Antoine Duthu.
“The processing of files is so slow” what “it penalizes the agricultural economy and the local economy as a whole”. “We are really waiting for action”reaffirmed the president of the Young Farmers of Côte-d’Or.
