Kafountine, April 28 (APS) – The town hall of Kafountine (south) received, on Sunday, cleaning equipment worth 90 million CFA francs, offered by Italian cooperation, noted the APS.

This donation of equipment, consisting of, among other things, tricycles, wheelbarrows, shovels and protective equipment for the agents responsible for cleaning, is part of the COSPE (Organization for Cooperation for the Development of Emerging Countries) project.

“This material will support the process aimed at making Kafoutine a zero waste city (…)”, rejoiced the deputy mayor, Diénaba Sambou.

The COSPE project intervenes in several areas of activity involving young people and women in resolving the issue of unemployment, which constitutes one of the major problems facing communities,” explained its focal point, Ousseynou Mballo.

”The acquisition of this equipment is part of a partnership between Italian cooperation and the town hall of Kafountine, he added, noting that the project also intervenes in the fields of sport and culture.

“These investments will change the face of Kafountine and boost the local destination,” welcomed Mr. Mballo, also head of the Technical Services Division of the town hall.

“We will work with the territorial authorities to develop a framework bringing together all the actors who deal with waste management in the city of Kafountine, so that there is horizontal communication between them,” for his part declared the COSPE project manager, Edouard Yomsi.
