Oracle is amplifying its investments in Research & Development in Morocco by planning to increase its number of IT specialists to 1,000. This major development targets the creation of advanced cloud and artificial intelligence solutions, intended for international use.

Technology giant Oracle has announced a significant expansion of its R&D capabilities in Morocco, aiming to increase its workforce to a thousand specialists. This initiative is supported by an agreement signed in Rabat between the Minister of Digital Transition Ghita Mezzour and Safra Catz, CEO of Oracle, in the presence of key figures from the Moroccan government and AMDIE. This strengthening marks a turning point in Oracle’s commitment to innovation within the kingdom, promising to accelerate the development of technologies that meet the global challenges of its customers.

“Oracle’s R&D center in Casablanca has already played a critical role in driving technical advances, improving cybersecurity, and developing new AI capabilities”explained Safra Catz. “By strengthening our R&D presence in Morocco, we will be able to further leverage its vast talent pool to accelerate the development of solutions that will help our global clients grow their businesses and score points in their sectors”she continues.

For her part, Ghita Mezzour highlighted the alignment of this project with the strategic royal vision, stressing that young Moroccans will work at the cutting edge of technology in the field of AI, big data, cloud and cybersecurity. “These solutions will be deployed on a global scale, thus strengthening Morocco’s positioning as a digital hub for the region. »

Geographic distribution and economic impact

Oracle is not limited to Casablanca for its expansion; around 40% of the new positions will be located in other regions, notably with the opening of new offices in Agadir and northern Morocco. This geographic expansion strategy aims to harness talent potential across the country and diversify economic opportunities beyond major urban centers.

Oracle thus reaffirms its commitment to contributing to the technological and economic development of Morocco, positioning the country as a key player in digital innovation on the international scene.
