Descriptive text here

At the end of June 2022, the Montfort-sur-Meu gendarmes came to the home of a resident of Breteil (west of ) for a trivial traffic infraction. This is how they discovered, in the person’s car, 23 kg of cannabis which were mainly in a suitcase. The man went to prison the following month for drug possession.

But other investigations are being carried out which will lead, on Monday March 11, 2024, to the simultaneous arrest of four men, including that of Breteil, once again. An operation carried out with the support of the GIGN and the Psig, the gendarmerie surveillance and intervention platoon.

37 mentions in the criminal record

The four men, aged 20, 24 and 31, were tried on Thursday April 25 in Rennes for their involvement in drug trafficking uncovered from September 2023 in Rennes, Montfort-sur-Meu, Breteil, Fougères (Ille-et-Vilaine) and La Flèche (). The oldest, Rachid Dimasy, is already well known to the courts since his record has no less than 37 mentions.

Drugs sold on Snapchat

A few grams of cannabis and cocaine were seized during the searches. The drug was offered in particular “via the Snapchat network”, notes the public prosecutor. The lawyers sought to minimize the role of each, pleading ” complicity “ for one of the accused, “lack of evidence” for others, but also “the weakness of the investigation”. One of the lawyers wants it as proof “the impossibility of investigators to quantify the products sold”. Another considers that the defendants cannot be reduced to what they are accused of today. “These young men each exercised their quality but unfortunately in a forbidden field. »
