Ligue 1. Metz – Rennes: referee Ruddy Buquet requests cancellation of Mikautadze’s red card

The red card given to Georges Mikautadze by Ruddy Buquet caused a lot of noise during the meeting between Metz and Rennes (2-3), Saturday May 4.

Decision validated during the disciplinary committee?

Sent off, after viewing the VAR by the French referee, for a slight shoulder tap on Arnaud Kalimuendo, Georges Mikautadze did not understand Ruddy Buquet’s decision. The day after the meeting, the football director of Messins, Pierre Dréossi, even announced his intention to have the decision annulled with the League.

According to information from The Team , referee Ruddy Buquet requested, in person, in a letter, that the red card he gave to the Georgian international be canceled. The 47-year-old man with the whistle finally realized his mistake and wants the red card to be withdrawn. The LFP disciplinary committee, which meets this Tuesday, May 7, should follow it and cancel the card.
